Nature was founded in 1869 and has since been recognized as one of the world’s premier scientific journals. Over its 150 years of existence, it has published the most modern and advanced scientific discoveries and research results; it has also been graced by articles written by the giants of science, including Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking.
Nature cover stories are selected by the journal’s senior editors and editor-in-chief, who consider the importance and newsworthiness of each set of research findings. In this exhibition, a number of diverse, finely-designed cover pictures are presented for display. Research that finds its way to the cover page of Nature is widely recognized as highly important.
For this Nature Cover Story exhibition, the University System of Taipei (UST) has partnered with academic publisher Springer Nature, who has authorized UST to display covers and cover stories from issues of Nature between January 2016 and October 2017. Subjects of cover stories include AI, the new Zika virus genome, single-cell biology, and changes in the cancer genome map.
Organizers hope to inspire interest in science and scientific thinking; thus they have used eye-catching, viewer-oriented designs that will give exhibition goers a better understanding of the cutting-edge trends and developments in international science.
